Another saturday in Denmark, nothing to exciting - but we stayed busy. Our saturday morning tradition is to make pancakes, so we started out with that. Broderick's first word whenever he wakes up is "moobie!" So he watches a cartoon while I made the pancakes. Then we went into town shopping for a few things. We were looking for rain gear. Since we only have one car and Brad rides his bike to work every day, he needs some gear to keep him dry.
Along the pedestrian street, they have a fountain (its not running now) with "birties" that Broderick loves to go and touch. He also loves splashing in his boots. That's what he's doing here.
I've mentioned before the garbage they pick up at your house is an incredibly small amount, so you do a lot of recycling. Along the side of the roads they have these bins for paper and plastic/glass bottles.
Then they have a big recycling/garbage center with 3 rows of dumpsters for various items. So we spent time getting rid of a bunch of junk from our house today. I think we Americans somehow are a lot more wasteful and have a lot more junk.
Not kidding, every store over here has some kind of mechanical ride or animal of some sort. Broderick of course thinks he has to ride every single one. This one was only 2 kroners, which is less than 50 cents. What a deal. Sometimes the rides are more than $1.
The rest of the day was spent around the house building Broderick's armoire. Finally!!! The boxes have been sitting outside his room literally for weeks now with Brad procrastinating putting it together. I think we were both burnt out from putting other stuff together. Yes, our little boy's room is still pink on one wall. I am still planning on repainting it, really I am. I think it will be easier to do once Broderick is in his dagpleje. He starts it on monday. Mommy is nervous.
