I forgot to say in my last blog that I went to the butcher and ordered our Thanksgiving turkey today. I'm so sad that we'll be eating it alone, but at least we'll have a turkey. Most of the traditional foods we should be able to come up with, but I'm desperately sad that we don't have any pumpkin over here. I'm contemplating roasting the whole pumpkin, but it may be too much work. We'll see how ambitious I get. Just thought I'd let you know.
Well I know it is not much consolation for you, but I can't go home for thankgiving either. I'm not even going to eat turkey, because I have no desire to do all the work, that I don't know how to do anyway. A few people have invited me over for the day, but I am heading for the beach. I also know that being in south Florida over thanksgiving is a lot more desirable than being in Denmark over thanksgiving, so I am not trying to get any sympathy.
ReplyDeleteAlso I think you need to get a new pediatrician. To let a poor kid suffer with conjunctivitis without an antibiotic? Viral causes of that are pretty rare, how does he know the difference? Sounds like you got a taste of the downside of socialized medicine.
you can substitute butternut squash if you have that over there. From Mumsie
ReplyDeleteYou can throw the roasted/baked (without rind)pumpkin in the blender with a little water to use for pie. Karen
