Aaron's Visit

This past weekend, we were fortunate to have Brad's older brother Aaron with us. He has been in Denmark for business about 1 1/2 hours south of us, but came to stay with us over the weekend. We met him in Aalborg Friday night and had dinner.
We were so thankful that he brought with him some treats from the states. Thanks so much Aunt Luann for Broderick's fruit snacks. He asks for them every day.
Here he is eating his fruit snacks. He wasted no time. Brad was equally excited for his!!!!
Saturday, we took Aaron to Landholm Hoeje, the oldest viking cemetery in northern Europe. Aaron is a lover of history, so we thought he would enjoy this as this is over 1000 years old.
Broderick was Aaron's buddy while he was here. While he was a little sad that it was only Aaron and no "Wosie" or "Joo-Joo", we think he was quickly forgiven.
Broderick liked sitting on the rocks.

Broderick trying on a viking helmet.
Brad had to buy the viking helmet. =D He thinks it makes for a cool decoration. Broderick and I both agree that it is "bery stery" (very scary)

Saturday night, we went to some friends for dinner, who also work at Pedershaab. She always cooks an amazing meal and it was no different tonight.
Broderick loves playing with "Wegos" at their house.
Neils-Ole, Aaron, Brad and Morton playing games after dinner.
Sunday we went to church together - Aaron was so lucky as we had a guest speaker that day who spoke English. Then after a quick lunch we had to say goodbye so he could get back to his hotel.
We are always so happy to have visitors. Thanks for visiting Aaron!!!!!
Next Wednesday my mom gets here. She'll have a day to adjust to jet lag and then we'll head to the hospital Friday to have our little girl, while she watches Broderick. Broderick is of course thrilled that grandparents will be coming this next month and is busy making plans. He tells me all the time what they are going to be doing together and where they will be going. Little does he realize that there will be a crying baby added to the mix as well. =D
Yesterday at my appointment (which took 4.5 hours), we got a tour of the neonatal unit. Our baby will go there for 12-24 hours after the birth. This is tough as she won't be with me, but Brad can go with her. They actually give her a tube that goes down her nose to her stomach to give her feedings to keep her blood sugar level up. I'm hoping its only the 12 hours as I'm sure I'll want to be able to hold my baby. She'll be in an incubator too, so Brad can put his hands in to touch her, but also won't be holding her. This was a bit of a surprise as they do things a little different in the states. I'm sure she'll be fine though and as long as she is healthy, that time will go fast. And maybe I'll be thankful for some time to sleep. I can't believe its only about a week away. So much to do, so little time.
