Visiting Family in Illinois

Its always great to be back in the states. As much as we love Denmark, there are some things that we miss about America. Here are a few .... in no particular order ....

-free refills on drinks
-drinks are cheap too! Soft drinks are VERY expensive in Denmark, about 6-8$
-Dairy Queen (ok, I really missed it this summer)
-everything is a bit cheaper
-Pizza!!!! especially Chicago style
-Things are open past 5:00pm
-Over the counter cold medicine
-mexican food
-Target (my favorite store ever)

We went to my family first to visit. It was so good to see everyone again. I can't believe it had been 9 months since we had seen them. I was so glad they got to meet Anika finally and Broderick was SO excited to see his cousins.
Broderick with Grandma and Grandpa.
Anika and Lauren
Uncle Greg and Anika
Christian and Broderick watching a movie. They are only a few months apart and play well together.
Christian really liked Anika. He'll have a new baby brother or sister soon, so he was practicing.
Broderick got some face paint for his birthday, so I had fun painting Joseph and Kaelin.
Anika meeting Great Grandpa Schambach
Cousin Jesse ready for ... well, I'm not sure exactly what he's ready for, but he's ready for something.
Uncle Clint, Aunt Lori and Broderick ... pretty soon we'll have a new cousin from them.
New cousin John
Anika loved Great Grandma Schock
Superstar Anika
Darren giving Christian and Broderick a ride behind the tractor.
We spent about a week and a half there, but it went fast. The first few days were a bit of a fog dealing with the jet lag with the kids, but once they adjusted, we were able to do a little bit more during the day.
